Its been a few months...Lots of changes and 1 awesome addition!

Hello there world. Long time no blog....

Its been way to long, and clearly I'm terrible at regularly updating.  But in my own defense I was kinda busy creating a life and then wrapped up by the most awesome little girl anyone could ever ask for, a little one named Ciara (pronounced keeerah) who brings joy and smiles to me everyday!  I am also back to work, we moved from VA back to NJ and bought and remodeled a house....so I'm giving myself a pass on lack of updating.

So I jumped in a bought a serger, I still have no idea how to use it....anyone one....Bueller.....I'd love to go for a hands on class on this, or I'd take a home lesson if anyone knows how to use it...I feel like it has the potential to be my best friend (since I LOATHE hemming).  I also upgraded to a brandy new brother machine, that has embroidery.  I'm hooked on embroidery...I now have a goal to get a separate machine for it, anyone want to give me their's!

What else...I have a new sewing room I have to set up, and since this is going to be our home for quite awhile I have some anxiety about setting it up wrong.  I originally thought I was going to have no space for anything, but it turns out I do have a pretty good amount of space to organize my stash and supplies....so hopefully these next two weeks I can set it up enough to actually get some sewing done, I do miss it quite a bit!  I feel, also, I can branch out and start making some items in bulk, I have gotten particularly good at making burp cloths and bibs....perhaps these will be new additions to my Etsy shop, only time will tell.

I haven't been completely dormant while I was pregnant, post partum, and now where I'm starting to feel like my old self again.  I have actually sewed several items.  I have learned that I can pretty much tackle anything, and the first try might be totally awful, but eventually I get it!  I also enrolled in a few craftsy classes online, and once my room is up and running I hope to finish them all out and gain some much needed skills to expand on my knowledge.

So below are a bunch of completed projects I have done.

Star wars booties, as a baby gift for a friend....Ciara needs a pair desperately!  They are actually all cut our for her, just got to sew them up.  Very easy to make and just darn adorable if I do say so myself....yes I am a nerd at heart!

Skinny Bones trick-or-treat bag.  Modified a pattern of by far the easiest bag ever to make...ever.  Made it for my little cousin Frederick for his first Halloween candy stash!

Another gift for little Frederick!  A little embroidered first birthday t-shirt, quite impressed with the stock selections on my little embroiderer.

Oh Christmas! Made about 60 of these cord keepers for favors for my sister's cookie party.  Wound up with the most awesome snapper tool from it...these are also so simple and fast to make!

Oh Bibs!  These are actually my favorite bibs, even all the store bought ones I have, they are just so much more durable and absorbent! These I made still pregnant the week after we finally decided on a name :)  I embroidered it on a bunch so we couldn't change our mind!

A gift for our cousin little Michael who was born just a couple weeks before Ciara :)

Close up of the embroidery, the machine is really decent (when operator error doesn't interfere)
Happy cupcakes matching set

A little newborn/baby fleece...comes in handy when its a little bit chilly! And super cute :)

Owls matching set (of course...)

Sweet little birds, trying out different shaped burp clothes

A little hidden embroidery on the back....
 More owls.....
Close up of the jacket....more owls :)
So my favorite fabric I ever bought, I had just enough for a few bibs and burp clothes, so excited!

Nothing better and a nesting doll! Well my giant pregnant belly in the right corner!

Another little fleece :)

Such an easy project, hangs over the bed perfect for my kindle, ipad and magazines instead of cluttering up my end table.

Some tissue box liners!

Another cord keeper....in use!

My machine at work.....

Even though I said I haven't done much sewing, I actually have done a lot!  Just not as much since we moved into the new house and all my things are still half unpacked.  I can't wait to get back to the table, and maybe start adding things to my Etsy store!  Hope you all enjoyed my months of sewing in a nutshell on here....Happy Tuesday!  Be safe in the snow!
