I went on a pillow making frenzy today. I finally got my other piped pillow done, and made some Easter pillows, not all for me. I love this fabric! I have enough for one more small pillow I think. Once I finish the "20 minute skirt". I will resume making some more pillows I think. I am making the first try at the skirt tonight....I will post my success or failure tomorrow.....keep those fingers crossed!

Piping hot....not really
So I made this pillow....FINALLY. I bought this fabric and piping like a year ago. I have enough to make a second one but it was harder than I thought on to making the Mardi grad pillows I was supposed to do with the cousins this weekend....I forgot the plug to my sewing machine! Can you believe that! I am going to make it for them....we did however start cutting out t-shirts for Steff for her T-Shirt quilt.
I have a couple projects on the wanna do this month list, but the most important is finishing off the rest of my mom's deer quilt, I'm like 75% done and it feels so good to be so close!!
Take a look at the finished piped pillow.

Not exactly sewing....
This past weekend my sister and cousin and I got together to do some crafts. We made a mardi gras wreath based on one of the many ideas found on pintrest. Ours came out AWESOME. It cost around $30 to make, but all the ones that are out there for sale are about $60 and higher.
There is a tutorial out there.

These are the highlights from us trying to make it. It was a great time!
Next up for the crazy crafting cousins.....T-shirt quilt....which involves me teaching these two how to sew----this should be an interesting one!
Here is how ours went down.

So I made a tea cozy!
I actually made 2 one didn't fit at all the other is just so frigging cute I might be tempted to keep it!
What do you think...sellable? It's really heavyweight cotton for the outside fabric and regular cotton inside. I suppose it is reversible! And it's got quilt batting inside to keep you're tea cozy warm!
Also are the pics of my two holiday pillows. :)

Christmas Time
Hello all,
I have been sewing up quite a bit of things. I made a new pillow and am working on figuring out how to make a roll pillow. And all the other things are gifts for people. I have been taking photos but sadly I cannot post until after I exchange some of them. Stay tuned though I will be posting my Christmas pillows and my next re-invention of the tea cozy, possibly to sell on etsy....who knows.
Happy Holidays :)

Day of the Dead rehash
So i bought this awesome fabric from superbuzzy.com and I had some left, also some extra brown velvet from my cape adventure. I made two things that actually cameout somewhat respectable.
Day of the Dead Bag
and
Day of the Dead Tea Cozy
The tea cozy was extremely easy to make and I am so pleased with the results. I am sending it to my cousin Mary to be a beta tester. I don't have a porcelian tea pot, and when I drink tea its usually from our Keurig, so I thought the beta testing should be done by an avid tea drinker.
I was thinking, prompted by a quite a few people telling me to open an Etsy store, that maybe I should. Maybe one day it will bring in so much income I wouldn't have to work full time haha. Since I don't think my skills are up to par just yet, like I still think my purse came out sloppy---Billy tells me I'm just overly critical---I thought tea cozy's would be a great way to make really easy, very neat looking projects that can fetch a few bucks....if there is actually a market. Stay tuned.
Oh and since the wedding is over is a photo of what I made the girls to go with their dresses. I hope they liked them I had lots of fun making them :)
On another note...I am so excited my christmas present this year is to go take a clothes making private sewing lessing at The Sewing Studio in NYC. I am just as giddy as a school girl to get to go do this!
Anyway that's all the sewing I have done these past few days. ACTUALLY that's a lie! I made pine filled sachets as the favor for my sister's cookie party I can't attend. They were a lot more work than I anticipated but they came out so friggin cute. I hope all the guests enjoy them---they smell so good I didn't want to give them to her! I will ask her to take some photos for the blog. They were really easy to make. Perhaps I will make a tutorial on them, its a 4-5 step process and you can make each for less than 2 bucks how awesome is that?

All Saint's Day
Hello world,
Well today was my dad's bday...Happy B-day to him...unfortunately we aren't able to make it back up to NJ till this weekend.
Anyway...didn't get a chance to sew today, but I bought the fabric for my sister's project yesterday at Joann....I think I'm in love with that store. It was cheap too with my coupons!
Well I thought I'd upload a few photos of the few projects I completed that I never blogged about.

Well I thought I'd upload a few photos of the few projects I completed that I never blogged about.
This first one is of the bags I made the bridesmaids....I never took a completed picture! I'm so mad because they came out super cute...I had a different fancy button for each girl.
There is my dear husband posing in the vest and shirt ... with a hood (that I had to figure out how to add and adjust to a pattern....when I never had sew from a pattern before)! I think it came out spiffy for my first go around with a pattern....I already realized things I can do better and faster and all sorts of things, I also got dear hubby to get me an eyelet maker because the pattern called for it...a win for me...it was at least a good learning experience. I will have to find out what pattern # I used and put it on here....it actually wasn't that hard and there were a lot of cool looking variations.
Here's me in the cape I made that had a hood and I lined it with fabric that matched my costume, and apple juice ;) ....I plan to sew myself a costume like I am wearing for next year's renn fest.....lets see if I can make that happen.....
There is us...yes that's me I chopped off and dyed my hair...this is at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party in Magic Kingdom....for our honeymoon :)
Alright I'm exhausted....Goodnight!
