The long absence has been do to the fact that I got married :). Oct. 8! It was fantastic, I had boatloads of fun....and then even more fun on the honeymoon. But alas we are back to reality and well, with a whole lot less planning to do for a wedding I hope to go back to doing a whole lot of sewing.
I actually sewed the girls in the bridal party little black clutches to go with their dresses, I will post a pic soon, I thought they came out quite cute!
On my cutting board list:
Project for my sister for her annual cookie party (since I can not attend :) boo)
New winter purse
I Almost forgot!! I sewed from my very first real pattern a Halloween/Renn. Fair costume for the hubby, who of course wanted costume alterations. I must say though, for me being under a very tight time crunch (like 8 hours) it being my very first every garment from a store bought pattern, and being totally exhausted, the outfit came out really nice! I now at least how a feel for using clothing patterns. I also sewed myself up a cape to go over my dress for the fare. And well it came out AWESOME!!! I mean I'm so super proud of it! We wore our costumes on our honeymoon, to disney at mickey's not so scary Halloween party, and I was so pleased at all the compliments we both got. I have to say I beamed a bit when people were complimenting Billy's costume--I made it! What a great feeling...as if I didn't have the sewing bug bad enough!!
Stay tuned for photos! Blog real soon.
Oh and:
I just discovered that a blind stitch is really easy--thanks you tube!! I always thought it was so hard to do, but it's not!!
